THE HAGUE: The Dutch press raved online Tuesday about the national team’s 3-2 elimination of Uruguay to reach the World Cup final for the third time in the Netherlands’ history.

“Now for gold,” said the popular daily De Telegraaf, who added midfielder “Wesley Sneijder has again liberated the Dutch team”.

“Thirty-two years after losing a final to Argentina, the Netherlands has again reached the final of the World Cup,” said the popular Algemeen Daglad newspaper under a screaming title: “Orange in the finals!”

“Goals by Van Bronckhorst, Sneijder and Robben too much for Uruguay,” the Christian daily Trouw wrote for its part. -AFP
